How to Wear Bold Lipstick Confidently


I have acquired almost 30 lipsticks since I started my makeup collection. Some high-end some drugstore, some neutral and some bold. I understand that nudes and peachy-tone lipsticks are probably the most popular. I do love a nude too. You can wear them with literally any eye makeup and they give you that Instagram-girl look about you. However, it is nice to be able to change things up a bit.
I'm definitely not shy when it comes to bold lipstick colours, I pretty much wear what I want. I know that for some people they don't find wearing a bright red, pink or purple that easy.

1. I've found that keeping your eye and face makeup simple helps with this. You don't have to worry about the lipstick matching your eye shadow and it helps to make it the focal point of your look.

2. Using a lip liner ensures that your bold lipstick wont run or bleed into the lines of your lips. It keeps it looking precise and sharp.

3. Starting off with a classic red is an ideal way to get into the world of bright lipsticks. Maybe add a hint of purple with it just to add a lil' something-something and get you used to the different tones before you go the full Monty.

4. Just remember that at the end of the day it's just makeup. If you don't like it you can wash it off. Life isn't meant for you to repeat the same things, so be bold and try something new :)

Review: Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Cleansing Oil


           I love makeup. But, makeup becomes completely pointless if you don't look after the skin underneath it. I've used makeup wipes for as long as I can remember, but I was thinking... everyday I'm scrubbing at my face with a wipe trying to get my makeup off. Tugging and pulling on your face like that can't be good (aka premature wrinkles...NOOOOOO). Even if you try to do it gently, you're still tugging at your skin.
          Now, my friend recommended this to me but I had heard of it on YouTube - the Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Cleansing Oil. For someone who has extremely oily skin, any product with more oil in it makes me shiver. However, it was half price at Boots and I thought why not.
          The bottle says to take 2-3 drops, I don't know if it's just me and my big face but I do use more than that, you still don't need loads though. I then rub it in my hands and massage into my face.
          I'm not lying when I say that you can literally feel the makeup melting off your skin! It's great! After getting most of my makeup off I rinse my face and pat it dry.
          The first time I did this I took a wipe to see if there was any residue and there was none, I was amazed! It makes your face so silky smooth and I confirm it doesn't worsen my oily skin, I really do love it.

My Style: Grey Duster | Why I Get Uninspired and How I Get Out of it


          I'm a very determined person. I know what I want out of life and roughly how to get there. I'm a pretty focused person and understand that if I work hard I'll be able to achieve what I want. Nonetheless, this doesn't mean that I do not go through stages of being uninspired. Recently I've found myself in that stage. I haven't been motivated with my blog, fashion, my a-levels or maintaining a positive mindset - this needs to change.
          I find that when I'm on half-term from school I tend to reach the stage of "uninspired-ness". I like having a routine and feeling like there's a purpose to each day. I like knowing that I have work to do and prefer to have a jammed packed day instead of spending it in bed watching re-runs of friends and eating myself 5 stone heavier.
          I've also realised that sometimes certain people can come into your life and completely change your outlook and perception. As hard as it may be you shouldn't let the actions or influences of other people to alter your motivation and determination. You need to find it within yourself - even if you have to look in the mirror and remind yourself where you are and where you want to end up, just do it!
          Sometimes it's hard. You see the world go past and continue whilst you sit in this funk where you can't be bothered to do anything. A more serious outlook on this could mean it as a gateway to mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety. Although I have never suffered from depression and have managed to get over my anxiety, I'll never underestimate the power it has over your mood and its influence over your lack of motivation.

Here, I've got some tips which I find useful:
- Get a routine and plan your days
- Find a hobby which make you happy/ helps to inspire you
- Read (for me it was other fashion blogs) to see what everyone else is finding inspirational
- Get out the house, even for a walk and fresh air, don't spend all day cooped up
- Talk to someone - a parent, a friend etc. they might be able to help you
- Remind yourself what you want out of life, who you want to be and what you want to achieve
- Try to have positive thoughts, these will reflect outwards
